Who are we?

Team 1504, the Desperate Penguins, is a FIRST Robotics Competition team. 

Founded in 2005, our mission is to have fun and compete in FIRST robotics while bringing STEM awareness to our community. Our club is organized into several different groups, both technical and operational, and there are opportunities for the students to learn new skills, gain experience, and grow as a person.

What is FIRST?

FIRST® (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is a robotics community that prepares young people for the future through a suite of inclusive, team-based robotics programs for grades PreK-12. Boosted by a global support system of volunteers, educators, and sponsors teams operate under a signature set of FIRST Core Values to conduct research, fundraise, design, build, and showcase their achievements during annual challenges.

The mission of FIRST® is to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders and innovators, by engaging them in exciting mentor-based programs that build science, engineering, and technology skills, that inspire innovation and foster well-rounded life capabilities including self-confidence, communication, and leadership.
